Promotion of patient-centered medical care
Patient-centered medical care is promoted from the perspective of the patient, with a focus on respecting patients’ rights and personalities, establishing medical ethics, considering privacy, and improving service. In addition, we strive to practice “open medical treatment,” by actively providing medical information and taking great care to implement informed consent.
Initiatives for emergency care
As an emergency care center with the philosophy of “emergency care as the starting point of medicine,” Tokyo Metropolitan Bokutoh Hospital is dedicated to providing tertiary emergency care for critical patients in its “Tokyo ER Bokutoh,” emergency perinatal care, emergency psychiatric care, and other forms of emergency care that give “24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year reassurance” to Tokyo metropolitan residents.
Providing high quality medical care
As the largest comprehensive medical center in Tokyo’s eastern wards, we correspond to “public healthcare services” including infectious disease care, intractable disease care and dental care for the disabled. We also aim to complete the integration of advanced and specialized medical system such as cancer care, cardiac care and cerebrovascular disease treatment, and supporting comprehensive medical treatment foundation.
Practice of safe medical care
All staff recognize that they have been entrusted with patients’ health and lives. Furthermore, all staff strengthen healthcare safety measures to achieve “safe and reassuring medical care” that patients can trust.
Development of human resources and a positive work environment
Staff are actively given support to improve their skills in each field and develop a higher level of expertise. In doing so, we promote to create a dynamic hospital that both nurtures outstanding medical care professionals to lead the next generation and gives staff a sense of pride in their work.
Strengthening medical cooperation
As the only municipal hospital in the second medical area of Tokyo’s eastern wards, we are strengthening our collaborations with nearby medical associations, dental associations, pharmacist associations, medical clinics, hospitals and care facilities, outreach nursing care stations, and dispensing pharmacies in order to help facilitate the division of functional roles and increase the regional level of medical care.
Establishing a management foundation
The mission of a public hospital is to improve operations while considering the balance between administrative healthcare and economic performance. In addition, a public hospital must establish a stable management foundation by creating “streamlined healthcare” that both secures profits and reduces costs.
Setting Up Crisis Management System
We promote regional cooperation of disaster medicine and emergency medicine. As a regional disaster base hospital, we establish a disaster medical system in the second medical area of Tokyo’s eastern wards. We also make efforts to enhance security in order to establish a crisis management system which contributes to stable hospital management.
